One Pair. From Indoor Bay to Outdoor Range.

Eclipse is one pair that handles both situations.

Clear under indoor lighting, tinting within seconds when you step into the sun, back to clear when you come off the line.

Our Advanced Light Technology (ALT) reacts to UV, not brightness. They will not transition under indoor lighting or in vehicles with UV-treated windows.

Why it's great for shooting: Tinted enough to kill glare, deliberately not dark enough to lose your front sight or wash out target definition in shadow.

What it's rated: ANSI Z87.1+, the high-velocity impact standard. The plus means it passed the high-mass and high-velocity tests, not just the basic drop.

What it does in heat: FogGuard Pro™ is bonded into the lens so you can say goodbye to steamy range days.

What's the frame: Dual-injected rubber temples and nose pads. TR90 frame that flexes instead of snapping.

How Dark Does It Actually Get?

Photochromic lenses are categorized from 0 (clear lens) to 4 (very dark tint for exceptional glare).

Eclipse was designed to go from category 0 to category 3.

We chose this so the lenses never go so dark that clarity on sight or target is lost.

Darkening takes seconds. Clearing takes a couple of minutes. That's true of every photochromic lens, ours included.

Which Eclipse Should I Get?

If you shoot exclusively outdoors in bright sun and want the darkest possible lens, the Eclipse Polarized is the better & more affordable buy.

If you move between indoor and outdoor, or shoot at dusk, this is the pair.

“If you’re going to buy a pair of good-quality ballistic glasses to go with your other gear, get a pair that you can use every day. ShellShock Eclipse glasses are perfect for range and EDC. Either way, you’re getting a good pair of glasses that look great and still offer protection for your eyes. This can make the difference between a good day and a trip to urgent care.”

“The adaptive light lenses are genuinely impressive. When stepping from shade into direct sunlight, the lenses darkened quickly enough to protect my eyes from glare, and when going back inside they lightened at a natural pace. They never went so dark that I lost clarity, which is ideal for shooting since you want to see your sights and targets clearly.”

“These Eclipse Adaptive glasses are probably the most comfortable pair of safety glasses I’ve ever worn—actually the most comfortable glasses of any kind I’ve ever put on my head.”

“If your range buddy’s steel target decides to toss back a fragment, these will keep your eyes intact. The Z87+ rating means the glasses have passed high-velocity impact tests that simulate what could happen when something really wants to smack you in the face at high speeds. This includes shell casings, bullet fragments, etc. That ‘+’ symbol is your green light that these glasses go above and beyond the minimum standard.”

“Fogging has been a constant battle with many glasses I’ve tried in the past, but the Eclipse lenses never fogged once. I tested them moving from cold AC indoors into a hot, humid summer afternoon, and they stayed completely clear. The FogGuard Pro coating seems to do its job really well.”

FAQs

How dark do these actually get?

From a photochromic lens category of 0 (clear) to 4 (dark tint), the Eclipse are a 3. Tinted enough to cut glare, intentionally not as dark as a dedicated smoke lens so you can still make out your target and sight.

How fast do they darken?

Seconds to darken. A couple of minutes to clear.

Are they polarized?

No, polarization and photochromic tinting are separate features. If you want polarized, the Eclipse Polarized is the one.

What is your return policy?

You can return within 30 days of the original purchase date for a full refund or exchange. For returns, simply email contact@shellshockpro.com. Products must be returned in their original condition. Find our return policy here.

Is there warranty coverage?

There is a 90-days warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Please find our warranty policy here.

Will they tint in my car?

No. The lens reacts to UV, and most windshields filter UV out. Same for indoor lighting. This is true of every photochromic lens, not just ours.

Can I get these with a prescription.

Currently no.
